October 28, 2014: France honours 15 Canadian WWII Veterans by awarding them the rank of Chevalier (Knight) in the Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur.


In the name of the Président de la République Française, le Consul Général de France, Mr. Vincent Hommeril, awarded the following honorees the rank of Chevalier (Knight) in the Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur:

This distinction illustrates the profound gratitude that France wanted to express to them. It was awarded in recognition of their involvement of the liberation of France and the rest of Europe. Through them, France remembers the sacrifice of all of their compatriots who came to liberate French soil. Thank you so very much; France will never forget.
